Logistics decide how calm your day feels. A mountain wedding lives on good planning: cable car times, the last ride down, luggage for two outfits, and a weather window you have to use when it’s there. That is exactly what I’m here for — I plan your photo moments around the lift and daylight times and build in the buffers a mountain simply demands. You don’t have to think about any of it. On the Wendelstein I know every trail and every lift from my own experience.
The light at altitude follows its own rules. At midday the sun stands hard and high — wonderful for the ceremony and the sweep of the panorama, less flattering for close-ups. The magic comes later: the soft afternoon light, the golden hour over the ridges and — if the sky plays along — the alpenglow, that brief window after sunset when the rock faces glow pink. That is exactly where I place your couple time.
Thinking practically: shoes, wrap, sense of time. My most important tip for every bride: comfortable shoes for the trails, the beautiful ones for the pictures. And a wrap or jacket — even in midsummer, mountain evenings get noticeably cool. Plan everything a notch more relaxed than in the valley, too: up here every path takes a little longer, and precisely this slowness is what makes the day so special.
Weather in the mountains is not a question of luck but of attitude. It can turn three times a day — and almost always there is something beautiful in it. Drifting clouds, banks of fog, a rain shower over the valley: these are not disruptions, they are the most dramatic images of the day. And for a worst case there is always a plan B in a hut or alm — cosy, warm and full of atmosphere. Protected areas also have rules of their own (for drone footage, for example) — I clarify that before your day as well, so everything is in order.

Yes, gladly. I accompany you by cable car, cog railway or on foot, with weatherproof equipment and experience in alpine terrain. The logistics — lift times, buffers, luggage — we plan together in our preparation call.
In the afternoon and at golden hour, when the light falls softly across the ridges — and with a little luck at alpenglow, just after sunset. We use the hard midday sun for the ceremony and the panorama, and place the couple photos in the soft light.
Then we use it. Clouds, fog and dramatic skies often make the strongest images in the mountains. For rain there is always a plan B in a hut or alm — and I keep a close eye on the forecast in the days before your wedding.
Absolutely — snow, clear air and early evening light make winter weddings magical. What matters is warm clothing for your couple time and an adjusted schedule, because the sun sets earlier. We plan both together.
