Wedding Photography
at Bavaria’s Lakes
Starnberger See · Ammersee · Tegernsee · Chiemsee · Walchensee
There is a light that exists only by the water: soft, doubled, in motion. When the evening sun sinks behind the shore and the lake throws it back once more, images emerge that cannot be staged — you can only be there when they happen. That is exactly my work. I accompany your wedding at Bavaria’s lakes as a quiet observer: documentary, calm, and in a way that lets you truly live your day.

Getting married by the lake — what twelve years on the water have taught me
The light belongs to the evening. Water acts like a second sky: it catches the evening light and returns it to you softly. The most beautiful couple photos at the lake happen in the last 60 to 90 minutes before sunset — and if you celebrate on an eastern shore, you have the luck of watching the sun sink directly over the water. That is why I plan your couple time not by the clock but by the sun: in May that means half past eight in the evening, in September already seven — for your date I calculate it precisely before the wedding.
The wind is not an enemy. There is almost always a breath of wind at the lake — and it is exactly what makes veils and loose hair come alive instead of looking stiff. For the very still images I know the sheltered bays and jetties; and whoever can spare half an hour early in the day is rewarded with mirror-calm water in which the whole sky doubles itself.
My timing tip for your schedule: ceremony in the early afternoon, then time for your guests, reception and congratulations — and then we steal away to the shore for 30 to 40 minutes when the light turns golden. That is all it takes. You miss nothing of your celebration, and the images look as if we had had hours.
And if it rains? Then it turns atmospheric. Rain on water is one of the most beautiful moods I know — and boathouses, covered jetties and terraces make natural plan-B spots. I look at your location in person before the wedding and have a plan for every sky. Promise: in twelve years there has not been a single wedding day where the weather took our pictures away.
“Zsolt kept himself very discreetly in the background. And yet he captured breathtaking photos — the images are creative and exactly to our taste. He is absolutely worth it, and I can recommend this wonderful photographer to anyone with complete confidence.”

For a lake wedding most couples choose the full day — photography and film from €3,200, from getting ready to the party; smaller packages for intimate weddings start at €1,900. Every package includes all successful images with no limit and the QR preview on your wedding evening. After our first conversation you’ll receive a personal quote with three options. → Packages
When is the best light for couple photos at the lake?
In the golden hour — the last 60 to 90 minutes before sunset, when the water throws the light back softly. For your wedding date I calculate the exact position of the sun at your location and place your couple time precisely in that window.
What happens if it rains on our lake wedding?
We still make great images. Rain over water is one of the most atmospheric backdrops there is — and I know the covered spots, boathouses and plan-B places at your location. I always carry transparent umbrellas.
Do you also photograph ceremonies right at the shore?
Very gladly — ceremonies by the water are my favourite moment: close, personal, with the lake as your witness. I work quietly and without flash, so your ceremony never feels like a camera is present.
Which lakes do you photograph at?
All over Bavaria — most often at Lake Starnberg, Tegernsee, Ammersee, Chiemsee, Schliersee and Walchensee. From Weilheim I can reach each of these lakes in under an hour. Somewhere else? Just ask — I like to travel.
People I trust
A wedding day is never made alone. Over the years I have met people who make the work easy — because they understand their craft and because they listen. These are the ones I recommend without hesitation. Not because we know each other, but because I have seen how they work.
